Machine Learning to Detect Product Safety Issues

My co-authors and I applied machine learning and natural language processing techniques to online reviews to identify product safety issues in online reviews of baby products. We managed to surpass the performance of the current state of the art. Our paper is published on arXiv and can also be seen below. The paper will be presented at The 31st International Conference on Industrial, Engineering & Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems, and published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNCS/LNAI) series. Our research was also presented at the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization’s 2017 North America Regional Product Safety Training Workshop.
